Welcome to Christine Bartkowski’s Hometown of San Antonio, TX
San Antonio's Soul: A Glimpse into Christine's Hometown
For Christine Bartkowski, San Antonio isn’t just home—it’s a living, breathing celebration of culture and community. “What I love most about San Antonio is how vibrant the city is,” she says. “There’s such a unique blend of foods, people, and music. There’s a liveliness here that’s hard to find anywhere else.”
Growing up in a city as iconic as San Antonio gave Christine plenty of memories, especially around the Riverwalk. “It’s probably what the city is most famous for. The Riverwalk is a long stretch of river with restaurants, shops, and live music. There’s always something happening. When I was young, I used to be afraid of falling into the water during the boat tours. But fun fact: the river is only about four feet deep!”
Of course, with that vibrancy comes the Texas heat, which Christine has grown to love. “San Antonio’s weather can be summed up in one word—‘hot.’ It easily gets over 100 degrees during the summer and stays warm through the holidays. Personally, I thrive in the heat.”
One of Christine’s fondest memories growing up was bonding with her family over their shared love for the San Antonio Spurs. “My dad was a huge Spurs fan. We’d go to games together at what was then the AT&T Center, and those are some of my most cherished moments. Even now, whenever I watch the Spurs play, it takes me back to those days with him.”
Beyond these memories and attractions, San Antonio holds deeper meaning for Christine. “For me, San Antonio means southern hospitality. It’s not just something people talk about—it’s something they live. Everyone is so welcoming and kind to the people around them, whether they’re lifelong residents or newcomers. There’s a true sense of community here; people are always lifting each other up, whether in business, family life, or among friends.”
From the Stage to Marketing
Christine’s journey to Seventh Scout has been a colorful and dynamic one. “My path has been a bit of a wild ride,” she laughs. Her love for storytelling began early, deeply rooted in her passion for the arts. Growing up in San Antonio, Christine was immersed in the world of theater, both on stage and behind the scenes. She spent countless hours rehearsing lines, working backstage in set, costume, and makeup departments, and learning the nuances of script writing and analysis.
When Christine went to college, she pursued a degree in theater, honing her craft and focusing on storytelling through the arts. Her college years were marked by a deep dive into the world of performance, where she explored different aspects of theater and learned to convey complex narratives through various mediums. However, as she interned at local theaters, Christine discovered a new passion emerging from her experiences—marketing and communications.
The transition wasn’t immediate but rather a natural evolution of her interests. “As I spent more time working in theaters, I found myself increasingly intrigued by the business side of things,” she recalls. “Marketing and communications offered a new way to tell stories, but with a different set of tools and strategies.” This shift led Christine to pursue a career in marketing, where she could blend her artistic background with her newfound enthusiasm for business.
Christine’s move into marketing allowed her to leverage her storytelling skills in innovative ways, crafting compelling narratives that resonated with audiences and clients alike. Her journey has been marked by a series of strategic moves that guided her toward her current role at Seventh Scout. “Joining Seventh Scout has been an exciting new chapter for me,” Christine shares. “Here, I get to apply my background in theater to create engaging marketing campaigns and connect with people through stories, but in a whole new way.”
As the most recent Scout to join the team, Christine brings a fresh perspective and a deep appreciation for the art of storytelling. Her journey from the stage to marketing has enriched her approach to her work at Seventh Scout, where she continues to explore the intersections of creativity and communication, shaping how stories are told in the digital age.
Weaving Stories Together
At Seventh Scout, Christine believes that each team member’s individual journey contributes to the collective spirit. “There’s a quote by Dirk Wittenborn that I love: ‘We are the sum of all the people we have ever met. You change the tribe, and the tribe changes you.’ Everyone at Seventh Scout brings something different to the table because of their unique experiences. It allows us to tell richer stories together.”
From San Antonio’s vibrant culture to her passion for storytelling, Christine brings her unique perspective to everything she does at Seventh Scout—making her journey one that continues to shape and inspire the team.
