Kind Clinic

You be you. We’ll be kind.

Kind Clinic, part of Texas Health Action (THA), is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing compassionate and inclusive sexual wellness and gender-affirming care to Texans, particularly within the LGBTQIA+ community. Offering essential services like HIV prevention, PrEP, and hormone therapy, Kind Clinic plays a vital role in promoting health and well-being in underserved communities. From launching TeleKind, a telehealth service, to raising awareness about critical programs like 340B, our collaboration with Texas Health Action focused on expanding access to care and amplifying their impact in underserved communities. Working with Kind Clinic, we expanded its reach, strengthened its digital presence, and amplified its impact through innovative campaigns and thoughtful design. Offering us the opportunity to blend purpose and creativity.

Spilling the Tea on 340B

Kind Clinic’s services are supported by the 340B program, a government initiative that allows them to provide affordable, free, and accessible care, particularly to uninsured patients. However, there was a common misconception within the community that Kind Clinic was only for those without insurance. Seventh Scout stepped in to develop a campaign that shed light on how insured patients actually play a crucial role in funding Kind Clinic’s work through the 340B program.

The “Be Kind Pharmacy Program” campaign educated the community, dispelled myths, and highlighted the importance of this program. By crafting clear, accessible messaging, we ensured that Kind Clinic could continue providing critical care while increasing awareness about how every patient, regardless of insurance status, contributes to the clinic’s mission.

Virtual Services: Kindness Without the Waiting Room

In 2021, as telehealth services grew in importance, we partnered with Texas Health Action to launch TeleKind, their virtual care platform. TeleKind expanded access to HIV prevention, gender-affirming care, and sexual health services, particularly for Texans in rural and underserved areas. Seventh Scout developed the TeleKind website, focusing on accessibility, user-friendly design, and seamless functionality to ensure patients could easily schedule virtual appointments and access care without the need to travel long distances. By creating a website that reflected Texas Health Action’s values of privacy, inclusivity, and convenience, we helped break down barriers to care for many Texans. Our work didn’t just stop at design—we supported ongoing maintenance and updates to keep the platform functional, responsive, and aligned with the organization’s growing needs.

The Risqué Business of Reducing Risk

One of our proudest moments with Kind Clinic was designing creative, engaging content around HIV prevention and promoting PrEP and other sexual health services. Our team produced bold, attention-grabbing visuals that were informative but also provocative and playful, resonating authentically with the LGBTQIA+ community. Some of these campaigns pushed the boundaries of platform “community standards” (cue the eye rolls 🙄) regardless, they successfully increased awareness and built a stronger connection with the target audience.

In addition to the ad design, we managed and optimized paid advertising campaigns across social media channels and Google Ads. This included drafting copy, collaborating on creatives, and conducting keyword research. Notable campaigns included launching TeleKind advertising to promote virtual LGBTQ+ telehealth services across Texas during the COVID-19 pandemic and expanding Kind Clinic’s reach in San Antonio through targeted advertising as they established a physical presence south of Austin. Our efforts helped spread vital messages about reducing sexual health risks while keeping the tone approachable.

Love Out Loud for Pride

Our collaboration with Texas Health Action extended beyond day-to-day healthcare messaging. We were also part of their Pride celebrations, creating colorful, inclusive branding and promotional materials that reflected the joy and energy of the LGBTQIA+ community.

The “Love Out Loud” campaign during Pride month was a success. It showcased Kind Clinic’s services while embracing the vibrant spirit of the community. From social media promotions to branded swag, Seventh Scout ensured Texas Health Action was front and center during Pride, building stronger bonds with its audience and reaffirming its commitment to providing welcoming, affirming care for all.

Rocking the Ribbon for World AIDS Day

Seventh Scout also played a pivotal role in Texas Health Action’s annual World AIDS Day observance. For the “Rock the Ribbon with Kind Clinic” event, we designed custom t-shirts, stickers, and other branded swag to build excitement for their 24-hour HIV testing event at their Central Austin clinic. The creative direction for this event focused on raising awareness while celebrating the progress made in HIV prevention and care.

By providing striking visuals and helping promote the event across digital channels, we contributed to a successful World AIDS Day campaign that underscored Texas Health Action’s dedication to accessible HIV testing and care.

A Partnership Rooted in Purpose

Seventh Scout’s partnership with Kind Clinic has been a rewarding journey grounded in shared values and a commitment to making healthcare accessible to all. From spotlighting the 340B program to launching TeleKind, from designing bold campaigns to amplifying Kind Clinic’s voice during Pride and World AIDS Day, we’ve been proud to support Kind Clinic every step of the way.

Our work didn’t just focus on functionality or aesthetics—it was about creating a digital and creative presence that aligned with Kind Clinic’s mission to provide affirming, compassionate care. Together, we’ve made meaningful strides in expanding their reach and ensuring that every Texan has access to the care they deserve.
