Business Development Representative

Seventh Scout is a close and nimble team of digital marketers serving small to mid-sized B2B companies who are looking to grow their revenues $500k or more over the next 12 months. These are our favorite and best clients…so much so we are looking to hire experienced and talented co-workers to help us find more of them!

As our Business Development Scout, you will be focused on introducing our digital marketing and inbound sales methodology to our existing prospective client base and finding more along the way. Like our motto “Be Nice. Make Better.” states, our company is grounded in providing the best solutions to our client partners in the most positive and proactive easy resulting in better business outcomes for us all.

As our Business Development Scout, you will be responsible for delivering our inbound sales methodology to address our potential customers’ business challenges and marketing objectives. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience developing leads from marketing campaigns and meeting sales quotas. You will use your communication skills to cultivate strong relationships with prospects, from your first contact until we close the deal. In this role, you will:

  • Source and qualify new prospects for our database by conducting high-quality prospecting to qualify leads.
  • Conduct pre-call lead research for product and industry fit.
  • Present our company to potential clients as the first touchpoint with each new contact.
  • Identify the key decision maker(s) and BANT
  • Uncover the prospects needs and connect with Seventh Scout solutions
  • Coordinate and collaborate with Seventh Scout leadership to set up sales plan/path.
  • Set up meetings/video conferences/calls with key decision makers 
  • Provide weekly sales reporting with monthly and quarterly progress reports
  • Participate in “all-team” weekly meetings to stay up-to-date with new products/services, mine the team for leads, and report on sales/prospect progress. 

A strong candidate will have:

  • A business or marketing degree (or equivalent experience) 
  • Previous successful sales experience OR a strong interest in a sales career.
  • Initiative and confidence to identify areas of growth for our agency and guide these prospects through the sales process.
  • The desire to meet and exceed measurable performance goals.
  • The ability to deal with objections and rejections.
  • A diligence for detail and constant communication with our team.
  • Passion for B2B marketing and the diverse industries our clients represent.
  • A willingness to learn, help out, and go the extra mile.
  • Drive and determination to continually grow with our prospects, clients, and team.
  • The ability to adapt to our rapidly changing, small business environment
  • A positive attitude and willingness to have fierce conversations
  • Superior communication skills; particularly writing and listening 
  • Know what BHAG’s are and how to achieve them.
